Subject: Sweetness
For the past twenty or so years thanks to the Internet Archive I’m able to time travel again.
Back to Morrison Colorado.
Just an outstanding performance ... along with 7/8.
At this show I remember my friend saying how sweet Jerry’s voice still was. Go ahead check it out. Compare this show with shows starting in 79 and after. Tell my friend (& now me) he was wrong. Jerry’s voice changed. Maybe too many shows too much smoking too much touring. I remember talking after the show with Jerry. He was Superman. Meeting Jerry after the show (& his Swiss Army knife)he appeared fit, with that smile of his. He was happy ,positive and looking forward to the future playing the next night & soon Egypt. He was on top of the world. The next few times being with him in late 79 and early 80 he was a different man. Everyone knew what was happening . Wish I could really time travel for real. I’d go back and try to help him. However back then we were all young and bulletprooff. Nothing could hurt us.
Oh well.
The key to this recording is it's from Betty Cantor. (Thank you droncit)
